Publication scheme
The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) maintains a publication scheme that outlines and describes information routinely made available to the public. It has been developed to give the community greater access to information held by government.
Information listed in our publication scheme is available on this website at no charge. There may be a fee if you request a large amount of material. We will let you know in advance if there is a fee.
Support for victims of crime
We are obliged under the Victims of Crime Assistance Act 2009 to treat victims with courtesy, compassion and respect. We provide information to victims of crime about the court process and refer victims to support agencies such as Victim Assist Queensland (VAQ), Protect all Children Today (PACT) or Queensland Homicide Victims Support Group (QHVSG).
Finances
A summary of our annual financial information is published as part of our Annual Reports.
Priorities
This class of information will be updated progressively.
Decisions
The Director of Public Prosecutions is an independent statutory officer appointed under the Director of Public Prosecutions Act 1984. The decision to prosecute or not must be based upon the evidence, the law and the Director's Guidelines. These guidelines assist the exercise of prosecutorial decisions to ensure the administration of justice is consistent, efficient, effective and transparent.
Policies
We are supported administratively by the Department of Justice (DoJ). We operate in accordance with DoJ's policies and procedures.
Lists
We are not required to hold any public registers in relation to the performance of the role of the Director of Public Prosecutions, however we contribute to the lists owned by DoJ, for example the Gifts and Benefits Register.
